How many people are on JWD right now ?
by JH ini'm curious to know how many people are logged on jwd at a given moment, like how many are logged on now.
maybe simon knows.. .
i'd say an average of 50 posters are logged on jwd right now....and probably an additional 100 more that aren't members that are reading here right now.. what's your guess?.

Why 6 Billion People Deserve to Die in Armageddon
by Leolaia injehovah is such a righteous, merciful, loving god -- slow to anger, overflowing with loving kindness and blessing.
yet it somehow bothers many of you that he will shortly execute his judgment on mankind and wipe out 99.9% of the world's population, as if that somehow is supposed to conflict with his loving qualities.
personally, i have no idea why many of you feel this way.

I don't feel bad for the cat. It had the freedom to run away to a good JW home anytime it wanted. The bible states very explicitly to "get out of her, my people". The cat has no one to blame but itself.

If Jehovah went to a psychiatrist, what would be his diagnoses?
by flipper inwe're talking about a "supreme being" who hates a lot, is violent and vindictive, fascist, any "love" is totally conditional, plays mean mind games (sacrifice your son for me)....he probably oughta be locked up!

Shepherding Calls
by R.F. inone thing that i really enjoyed taking part in was shepherding the flock.
i saw this as the perfect opportunity to really encourage others and help play a part in strengthening them.. however...... i started to despise giving shepherding calls.
the elders that i went with seemed to suck out any possible joy that both parties could receive from the visits.

The only shepherding calls I ever got were during the CO's visit, or right before it. I didn't enjoy them because I never felt like love was the motivating factor behind them.

The last cong I attended was all white, except for one black sister who was married to an elder that no one there liked; a real control freak. Incidentally, her previous marriage was to a Gygax, whose father was the inventor of Dungeons and Dragons.(I think his father. Related in some way)

Did you have to dress up for meeting?
by ericr ini remember having to dress up for every meeting even the ones during the week.
i had to wear a botton down shirt dress pants, a tie, dress shoes, dress socks and a blazer.
this was also required by my parents to dress up when going door to door.

I remember that even when we would go out to eat after the meeting, brothers would not take their ties, or even their suitcoats off. I remember the looks I would get from my sisters for doing so, like I had just commited fornication.

there is an older indie flick called the last supper
Finally, somebody else who has seen that movie. I thought it was a great film. I strongly recommend it too, especially if you're into dark comedy like I am.
